LFWM Hair and Makeup Round Up SS2019
As a PR I spend most of my time over LFWM, backstage with my clients, chatting with designers, photographers and journo’s covering the shows. It’s an amazing experience and gives me a unique insight into the emerging trends and new technics being used.   Here I’ll share with you a roundup of the best hair and makeup looks from our shows over London Fashion Week Mens.

CV22-Rugby-England’s ethos collides the tropes of classic masculinity and traditional menswear with an unapologetically contemporary attitude. The Superimposition collection reflects the traditional elements of Rugby mixed with the modern use of technology in the form of body mapping.

Hair: Brendan O’Sullivan For British Hair The team echoed these elements in the hair, keeping it classic in the style but adding texture and shine with Great British Barber products, Texture Power, New Hard Hair Gel and Shine Serum for a modern edge. All held in place with British Hairs Perfectly Finished Hair Spray.

Make-up: Michelle Stain For AOFMPro The AOFMPro team created at an effortless and fresh look, starting by thoroughly cleaning and toning the skin to remove any dead skin cells. Next, Dermalogica’s Ultra Calming Serum and Skin Soothing Creme were applied to create that inner glow look.

This was followed by a lightweight dewy foundation to even out skin tone and a liquid concealer to cover any dark circles or blemishes, setting the skin with lightweight power. To finish the look, brows were brushed up to perfection and set with a clear gel whilst a matt lipgloss was added to enhance this natural look.

SS2019- REACT NOW The React Now collection is a call to action, to pay attention to our changing times environmentally, politically and socially.

Hair: Brendan O’Sullivan For AOFMPro Using British Hair In keeping with this progressive theme, the hair was kept clean and back from the face,  by using a mix of British Hairs Multi benefits and a foundation mousse, then blow dried in to place using a Mason Pearson brush until the hair was completely dry.  Finishing with New Great British Barber Hard Hair Gel to achieve a controlled, glossy look. Coloured stripes were added to give the appearance of a glacial shard in white and red tying into tones within the collection.

Makeup: Michelle Webb For AOFMPro The focus was on skincare keeping the skin fresh-faced and minimal working with the model’s natural beauty.  Having the Dermalogica range backstage really helped and the team made full use of products such as their ultra calming cleanser and mist, redness relief primer and the serum drops mixed into active moist to really balance the skin out. Next, a lightweight tinted moisturiser was applied all over the face, to even skin tone and add radiant, finishing with pinpoint concealer was added for any blemishes. Brows were brushed up for a natural look and coloured gel liner was used to complete the glacier shapes extending from the hair.

Michiko Koshino SS2019
Michiko Koshino SS19 Collection was filled with neon colours, shocking prints and inflatable fabrics. This season Michiko took inspiration from exoticism, fantasy and escape through nods of travel, jet-setting and tropical destinations.

Makeup: Yin Lee for AOFMPro To work with this elaborate collection, the AOFMPro team decided to keep it simple and focused on the skin, keeping it natural with a slightly glowing look to mimic being in a hot, tropical location. They started by cleaning the skin with Dermalogica’s Ultra-Calming cleanser to remove any dead skin cell, then massaged in Dermalogica’s Skin Soothing Creme, to get a great moisturized look. To finished, they layered on Dermalogica’s Toner, which completed this glowing, wet look skin.

Wood Wood SS19- ‘THE OUTSIDE’
This collection celebrates the great outdoors. The contemporary streetwear of Wood Wood is infused with elements from outdoor life in both prints, styling and details.

Makeup: Yin Lee for AOFMPro Keeping it in tune with the minimalistic, Scandinavian light and functional sporty feel the brand portrays, the AOFMPro team created a fresh looking skin with a slight glow to celebrate all the elements of nature and the great outdoors. Dermalogica’s Cleansing Oil was used on the male models to achieve a perfectly clean-shaven look. A clear sheen was applied on the girl’s eyelids – and on both the male and female models’ cheekbones – and down the nose to give that fresh, outdoorsy feel, echoing the healthy rays of the sun.

Matthew Miller –Paradise Lost The Paradise Lost collection is inspired by a new generation; a new underground subculture that understand that materials are finite and products need to be made well and made to last a lifetime. In keeping with the collection, the makeup was futuristic and strong

Makeup: Michelle Webb for AOFMPro The AOFMPro team started by prepping the skin with Dermologica’s Ultra Calming Cleanser, layering over a spritz of Dermalogica’s Multi-Active Toner, avoiding the eyes, and finishing by massaging in Dermologica’s Skin Smoothing Crème to create the perfect base.

Next came a fine layer of tinted moisturiser, one shade lighter than the model’s skin, which was applied all over the face and worked in with a buffing brush or sponge.

A Liquid High Lighter in a holographic shade was applied generously to the cheekbones creating a blinding holographic effect.

SS2019- Picture of a Monk
Following the brand’s theme of a monk daydreaming about becoming a model in the works of the famous photographer, Ren Hang.

Hair: Brendan O’Sullivan For British Hair The aim was to create an organic and ethereal look for the hair. Using hairpieces to create movement on the face, secured with New Great British Barbers Hard Gel and finished with British Hairs Multi-benefits mixed with Great British Barber Shine Serum for a super wet look, making the models seem almost ‘not of this world’.

Makeup: Yin Lee For AOFMPro To complement the designs and inspiration with the makeup we gave the models an incredibly sweaty, wet and dreamlike face texture, with the innocence of youth.

A dark, burnt orange colour was applied on the eyelids, under the eye and blended up on the temples to reincarnate the colour of a monk’s clothing.
A rosy colour was applied on the apple of the cheeks to hint towards that youthful innocence and finished with baby oil gel to achieve this super wet look.
